Dad Is Having Dinner with Son When Doorbell Rings, He Opens the Door and Sees His Ex-wife — Story of the Day

One afternoon, Norman was having lunch with his son when his ex-wife Myra paid them a visit. Norman was shocked when she told them the reason for her visit after so many years.

Norman and Myra had been married for seven years and had a six-year-old son named Oliver when Myra got a job in Huston, Texas. She had to leave her husband and son and relocate alone because Norman was working for a software company in New York.

“I’ll be back home soon, honey,” Myra told little Oliver before leaving. “And I will video call you often. Be a good boy to daddy, okay?”

“Really, Myra?! Is that all you’ve got to say?” Norman was furious. “Your son is sick and misses his mother! The least you can do is call and comfort him!”

“Okay, Norman, look, I know it’s all hard being a single dad and everything, but I really don’t have time. I’m going to a meeting now. I’ll try to call you this weekend,” Myra said then hung up.

Like a responsible father, Norman looked after Oliver and performed the duties of both a mother and father. He took him to school every morning, then when he came home from work, he would do the household chores then spend time with his son. On...
