‘Frasier’s Kelsey Grammer Refuses to Apologize for His Faith after He Rejected God & Switched Beliefs

Kelsey Grammer was well known starring as psychiatrist Dr. Frasier Crane on “Cheers.” He also featured in its spin-off “Frasier” and in February 2023, he had been the recipient of three Golden Globes and five Emmy Awards for his roles on “The Simpsons,” “Frasier,” and “Boss.”

However, he felt his greatest work was “Jesus Revolution,” a Christian drama. The star described the film as uplifting and revealed that he and his wife, Kayte Walsh, went to see it together.

He said Walsh broke down in tears and told him, ‘It’s the best thing you’ve ever done.’ In the movie, the actor played the role of Chuck Smith, a real pastor, who got help from a street preacher, Lonnie Frisbee (played by Jonathan Roumie), in re-establishing his faltering church.

Roumie’s character asked Kelsey’s to invite rock music and young hippies to achieve change. Walsh’s husband was raised as a Christian Scientist and recalled the 1960s and 70s revolution called the “Jesus movement.”

The then 68 year old actor recalled how “optimistic” and “energized” the young people were during that period and he thought it was a great thing to see. Later in 2023, the star would appear in Paramount+’s revival of “Frasier.”
