Barbra Streisand and Barry Gibb are both iconic figures in their own right. Although they’re from two different continents, they both united to present a commendable performance of a song that was top-notch in the 1990s.
Streisand was everybody’s favorite, with over six hit records all making it to the top 40 countdowns in two years. Gibb, on the other hand, was at the peak of his career.

Gibb earned the number one spot six times in the span of two years after teaming up with The Bee Gees, a rock ‘n’ roll band including his two brothers, Robin and Maurice.
Streisand considered featuring the Bee Gees in her “Guilty” and “Woman in Love” albums in 1980, and both pieces were warmly received by fans as they earned top ratings on the music charts. Gibb co-wrote the songs, and in 1983, the album bagged two more top 10 hits.
In her duet with Gibb, the two singers exchange lines over a smooth bossa nova groove. Speaking about the song, she said:
“I was having fun with him. The rhythm of the song gives you leeway to play. And I love to play.”
Fans loved the duet and shared their thoughts with the duo on many occasions, some have even taken to YouTube more recently to share their love for the song. One said:
“Incredibly underrated song despite being a smash hit. The vocal performances are top-notch, but the writing, arrangement and production are from another planet. Simple but sophisticated at the same time, on the verge of kitsch but never overstepping, incredibly sexy yet elegant at the same time. Harmonically not the most complex, but very tasteful.”
They went home with a Grammy for “Best Pop Duo or Group Vocal” for “Guilty,” and they worked together again on “If Only You Were Mine.” After Streisand posted about their latest partnership on social media, fans flocked to the comment section to express their admiration.
